In one cartoonishly-oversized hand, you’ve got the stealth and multi-path gameplay of Deux Ex. In the other hand, the stylized 2D parkour of Canabalt. Now smash those hands together and cover the resulting goo with a thick paste of circuit-puzzle “hacking” and you might have an idea of what to expect from the upcoming video game Gunpoint.
As I’ve mentioned before, I don’t do reviews on the blog, but I will do recommendations. And today I’m recommending that you go download and play the demo for Gunpoint. It’s smart, smooth, and written with an ear for humor that actually works.
If you like the demo (obviously, I did), you can pre-order the full game for a song. If you really love the demo, you can get the super-deluxe version for a couple of songs, but it’s still cheaper than a night on the town, and is far less likely to send you to the emergency room with a drunken stranger named Chad who says he only eats those roots “to unwind, you know?”
