Everyone loves a good gold rush. Folks acting crazy, taking risks, turning violent, and betraying their own families for a chance to strike it rich – now that’s just plain good drama.
There’s a gold rush on in Rusty Gulch, but it’s not for gold. The rush is on for Torsten’s ore, arguably the most important resource left in the world.
The Ore Torsten’s ore is the main power source for practically everything that needs power: vehicles, robots, energy weapons, computers, communication devices – you name it, and it’s probably got a crystal-shaped slot where the battery would go. Even now, after the war is over, a major attraction of the untamed frontier is an abundance of Torsten’s Ore. Humans and robots alike are drawn to promise of cheap, efficient energy. That’s the main reason Rusty Gulch is such a hopping place. The town of Rusty Gulch was home only to a handful of farmers, ranchers, and merchants until Torsten’s ore was discovered just south of town. Now the place is booming, with new folks coming in every week, and the mine camps are full to bursting. Torsten’s ore is the ultimate plot device: it’s rare, valuable, a power source for all technology, and the key ingredient in any cool new sci-fi gizmo. Conclusion So there you have it: six weeks of Rusty Gulch previews. I hope it whetted your appetite for the upcoming mini-series from Angel Gate Press (due summer 2007). Thank you for sticking around to read the whole thing. It’s been a blast for me; I hope it has been for your as well. If you’ve got any questions or comments, you know where to find me.
