As announced on the Kickstarter page for the new Savage Worlds Adventure Edition, my publishing alter ego, Hardy Tales, will be releasing an Empire of Venom & Silk roleplaying game for Savage Worlds!
For the uninitiated, Empire of Venom & Silk is a grim, low-fantasy setting in which humanity desperately fights to survive in a world overrun by giant, intelligent spiders. In the RPG, the players take on the roles of heroes sworn to oppose the eight-legged tyrants and defend what remains of civilization.
Empire of Venom & Silk actually had its start here on the blog and over on my Patreon. The idea was to create a new storyworld in public (since world-building is kind of my thing), in order to demonstrate some of my favorite world-building tips and techniques. That one idea went on to spawn over a dozen posts, and as time went on, I realized I wanted to do something with the setting. It was too cool to just leave as a proof of concept.
The something I decided to do was turn the world into an RPG. And Savage Worlds is the perfect system for such a project.
